New ad shows the Touches, Nanos and Shuffles exploding and multiplying to the beat.
It's funny... the Apple iPod nano is now just $10 cheaper than the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Cook is back,wrapping up what we've seen. Is he going to do his first ever One More Thing?
"What places Apple way ahead of the competition is how well these products work together." -- Tim Cook
"Apple has never been stronger," Cook enthuses. Employees "are doing the best work of their lives."
"Whenever we have a music event, we like to remind our customers why we do ..." it's a musical guest .
An incredible band ... one of the most artistically respected bands ... 11 grammy awards ... they sell out arenas ...
Live on stage, ladies and gentlemen, Dave and the guys.
The Foo Fighters were at the DNC last week. They get around.
They're doing an acoustic set. "Times like these ..."
Have to say, the acoustics at Yerba Buena make this one of the crispest, best songs I've ever heard live.
Going to be quite a rager backstage with Foo Fighters and Tim Cook, I'm sure.
CT: What song are they playing?
Standing ovation from the guest seats for "times like these"
Groll now comparing meeting Apple execs to meeting Tom Petty or Little Richard. "You meet them, they're flesh and bone. It's inspiring."
Second song from the Foo Fighters: "My Hero."
James: Not unless there's a "one more thing" after the Foo Fighters. We live in hope ...
@James: looks like the iPad Mini will be October after all
It's great to see musical guests back at Apple events. In the past I've seen U2, Norah Jones, Dave Matthews and many more at these things. This is Cook's first.
I hope the video of the event, which Apple will likely post later, captures just how fantastic this audio is. The band's levels are matched to perfection.
And one more song from the Fighters: "Walk"
@jwhitley That's what we're expecting too.
Rumor had it that we'll see another Apple event in October. I'd say that's extremely likely at this stage.
It's great to see all these journalists nodding along while furiously typing.
Foo Fighters have been around 18 years, and this is the first time they've played an Apple event. What took them so long? ;)
Cook is back on stage to applaud the Foo Fighters, with half the audience on their feet.
"I hope you're excited as we are by what you saw today. Thanks for coming." And with that, Cook ends the event and ushers us to the hands-on product areas.
Will there ever be another One More Thing? I guess we'll find out in October. Maybe.
Nice. Pretty much what we expected, but some cool surprises in there, like the dual-band WiFi.
Thanks for joining us, folks! Lance and I are heading off to get hands on with the products -- and to find out if the iPhone 5 really does have a headphone jack on the bottom now. We'll keep you updated with stories throughout the day.
I wonder if the iTunes update will explicitly remove Ping.
@AmyVernon Thanks for joining us!
