What can you say. What a match that was. Belgium were pushed to the end. A brave performance from the USA.
USA's crossing is too deep at the moment. Lot of tired legs out there.
Chance Belgium! Vertonghen picks it up, it was 3 v 2 and he takes too long to hit it. Massive chance for Belgium. USA very exposed at the back now. Looking tired.
You sensed it was coming. Lukaku showing his strength and now it's all uphill for the US. De Bruyne has looked dangerous all match.
HUGE MISS: Worst offside decision of the world cup. But Wondolowski will be happy as he has just missed from two yards out. And on the replay, he was well onside.
CHANCE BELGIUM: De Bruyne crosses it from the left to Kompany who just needs to get a clean strike on it and it's game over. But he scuffs it. Belgium now with their 16th corner.
Hazard misses from close range. Left side of the area, he hits it with from a tight angle into the side netting. Not even forcing a save from Howard. Two minutes of normal time to go.
85 mins: Origi slams it from outside the area, straight into Howard. One more save for Tim. Probably his 600th of the tournament. Or something obscene like that.
What a block from Gonzalez. He's having a great game. Van Buyten with the shot and he is stopped from a few yards out by Gonzalez. The USA side are giving it their all here but they look shattered. It's been all about late goals in this tournament. Are we going to see one now?
Big there from Roonaldo. My question is: who's not supporting the US of A today?
News coming in that Jozy Altidore will not be starting today's match
Beyond all the hype ahead of tonight's match, it's worth considering whether USA actually have a chance tonight. And I for one reckon they do. If you look back at the Group stages, they were unlucky not to beat Portugal. That last minute pinpoint cross from Ronaldo was too good, but Portugal were not. The Germany match, USA exploited the fact they had not natural full backs. Belgium don't either. USA play attacking football, but you feel they need to bag an early goal if they are to keep pace tonight with the Belgians.
I think it's fair to say that the USA fans are a bit excited about tonight. But should they be worried? Manager Jurgen Klinsmann isn't too happy about the choice of referee and had a fair bit to say on it.
