I have a 3 year old great niece who has not been diagnosed with autism. Her parents have their own problems and don't want to deal with it. Is there anything other family members do to help? Is it neglect or abuse if they don't get her help?

My grandson has Asperger's syndrome. He receives occupational, speech and socialization therapy and is doing well. He is 8 years old and lives in St. Louis. There seem to be a lot of public resources there. Are there programs for families here in Florida that are subsidized?

Your tv banner mentions Asperger Syndrome, but the new DSM-5 has eliminated this diagnosis, as well as PDD-NOS. I think you should update the very important information you are sending out to your viewers.

Did you know that Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) which is one of the most helpful therapies of ASD is only covered by insurance companies if the child diagnosed before the age of 8. If the child was diagnosed after 8 insurance will not pay for ABA. Is there a reason for this? Child over 8 years old can receive the coverage as long as they were diagnozed before 8, so two 9 year olds with the same diagnosis are treated differently. Can something can be done about this?
