The main talking point in the build-up to the Group G finale in Recife has been the colossal amount of rain that's fallen - with some agencies reporting that last night saw TWO MONTHS worth of rain has fallen in just one night. The whole area is flooded, though FIFA, as recently as half an hour ago, have assured us that the game WILL GO AHEAD.
Team line-ups are out folks. Here we go...
Though a draw would be enough to send both teams through, Germany and the USA have faced off nine times previously; there has never been a tie. It's a sign.
Of course, Ghana and Portugal face off in the group's other game, both in need of hefty wins in order to see them overtake either USA or Germany. Ghana are best placed of the two, but they'll have to find a way to keep Cristiano Ronaldo quiet for 90 minutes before they get their hopes up too high...
If this doesn't get you pumped, I'm not sure what will...
We shouldn't forget that Germany are one of the pre-tournament favourites over in Brazil. Thomas Muller won the Golden Boot (tournament's top scorer) last time round at South Africa 2010 and he's already bagged a hat-trick against Portugal in Brazil.
Get answering the poll folks, we love to know what you guys are thinking before, during and after the big game. Don't forget, you can leave your comments as we go along too...
A couple more stats for you before we really ramp things up...
USA have scored exactly twice in their last six matches in all competitions. Germany have scored in 19 of their last 20 World Cup group games.
I think we've got a blockbuster on our hands folks...
34 MINS: The pressure's getting cranked up. Ozil fires in on Howard, who palms away to safety
37 MINS: Gonzalez gets himself in the book for a cynical foul on Schweinstieger. Just 10 minutes left this half...
40 MINS: USA force a corner! However, Bradley can't get the heght to get on the end of Dempsey's ball in and the ball runs out of play.
Here's that incident from earlier. Get out of the way ref!
43 MINS: A couple of minutes left until half-time and USA are pushing for a goal. Mertesacker is standing strong though, I think it'll end up goal-less.
45 MINS: Bradley has gone in studs up on Muller. He's avery lucky boy to escape punishment. A similar challenge last night saw Ecuador's Antonio Valencia sent off...
It's been an engaging first half over in Recife. Of course a draw would suit both but you can't accuse either side of sitting back and resting on their laurels. Germany have probably had the better half of the two but USA have looked very danerous on the break. We're all set up for a very decent second half.
