Thousands Of Super Bowl Tickets Still Available

Brokers: Indianapolis Hard Destination To Sell Than Miami or Dallas

INDIANAPOLIS -- As of Saturday night, less than 24 hours before the big game, brokers said there were still thousands of Super Bowl tickets available for fans looking to score last-minute deals.

According to ticket broker Stub Hub, prices for a single-game ticket have dropped almost $1,000 in the last two weeks, and there are still about 2,000 remaining.

Fans packed Stub Hub’s remote downtown office to monitor ticket selling prices. Stub Hub spokesman, Joellen Ferrer, said the ticket sales are similar to what they saw last year at Super Bowl XLV in Dallas.

"Over the last couple hours leading into game time, we had maybe 50, 60 people watching a 40-inch screen that we had with just ticket prices. It was constantly being refreshed and it was like watching the stock market,” Ferrer said. "People are kind of (watching the prices) fluctuate a little bit and they’re just kind of holding out for the best deal possible.

Experts said Stub Hub and other reputable brokers are the safest way to secure tickets without fear of being scammed, RTV6's Chance Walser reported.

Officials said real tickets have unique perforated lines and a hard-to-replicate hologram of Lucas Oil Stadium.

Fan Christopher Downey from Nebraska had his own method of not getting scammed.

"The best advice is to buy from somebody you can call Monday morning,” Downey said.

Stub Hub officials said it’s unusual to have 2,000 tickets left less than 24 hours from kickoff but that Indianapolis was a harder destination to sell than Miami or Dallas.
