Thank you Diego regarding Company reputation to guarantee what they say they're doing they are doing but todays market is the bottom line. An example is location information which is collected all the time and is sold to private interests with provisions not to release personal information then resold to public interest that want to know where people are going and coming from. I trust the NSA over private interests at least it's not for sale.

I shred anything that has my name or any other personal info before I put in trash. They did say at IRS that 90% of IRS tax fraud happens in FL

Paul, not all smartphone manufacturers do this. You can always turn off GPS tracking but in any case you will still have your location available for emergency services and the cellphone service carriers. It is still needed for providing the service

On Facebook, even though my photos are set to "Friends only", it seems that any of these people can "share" these photos on their pages and they might not have privacy controls. Is there a way to not allow people to share something you've posted?

Ro, social media has come a long way in the last decade. In any case no site is 100% safe and you still need to be aware of what you share with whom

Ro, according to posts I just reviewed from this weekend, many people are asking the same questions you are. It appears that Facebook has not come up with a way to block this from happening. The bottom line is that if you put it on Facebook, you lose control over who can view it.

when they call your cell phone with a number that looks or doesn't look legit and you redial that number back coming form your cell it says disconnected or it can't be reached or this number is not available at this time, or the person phone can't take calls at this number. what is the deal with that?

Whats scary is these data mining sites like intelus, radaris, and other that cobble all you info togther from facebook, classmates, linkedin, etc. When you contact them and tell them they have invalid data - in my case the person with my same name who I know has a record as they have contacted me in the past only to see my picture come up under their name. They flatly refuse to help or take accountability. It makes you think twice before you put anything out there

Ok this sounds crazy, but before we discard our old computers, we take out the hard drive and smash it with a hammer. There's no way to get info out of that hard drive, is there?
