Hi This is Lee Wiglesworth, I'm an Insurance Agent at Wiglesworth - Rindom Insurance Agency located in Delray Beach. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have that would be Homeowners, Flood or Auto Insurance related.
Hi Frank, if you have full coverage on the vehicle flood damage may be covered but subject to your comprehensive deductible. If you've elected to add towing or roadside coverage the tow to the mechanic would also be covered.
Hi Frank, Thanks for the question! This will depend on whether or not roadside assistance coverage was included in your policy. You may be eligible for reimbursement from Geico. You can contact their service department to find out if you have this coverage. Save your receipts as you will want to submit those to their claim department for reimbursement if you have the coverage.

After repairs reported to insurance it is reported to Car Fax
We have seen several vehicles towed in today with everything from no start engines to interior damage due to water coming through the doors.
It is possible that it could dry out, however keep in mind many vehicles have modules located under the seats and behind the dash.
After the water recedes ensure that water never reached the air box where your air filter is located.
You should be able to start the vehicle then
Hi Rob, great question. Intentional damage is generally never covered, though unwise decisions or not particularly excluded. Your adjuster would ultimately determine whether or not the damage to your vehicle will be covered in such an event.
Thanks for the question. Rising water coming from outside of the home, or flooding in other words, is excluded from your homeowners insurance. You would need to have a separate flood insurance policy for this damage to be covered.
Hi Rob, like Andrew said intentional damage is excluded but if you drove through a flooded street you still have coverage. As long as your intent wasn't to damage your car to collect insurance premium.
Hi Donna, thank you for the question! Ultimately the discount you are eligible to receive for the new roof would be verified by a Windstorm Mitigation Inspection, which generally you are responsible for obtaining and furnishing
to your homeowners insurance company in order to achieve the additional discount.
Hi Reese, not necassarily. Your adjuster will generally weigh the cost of repairs against the total replacement value of your vehicle when determining total losses.
if there is no way of avoiding the water, then please go very slow and try to stay to the lowest point of the water level
what yout trying to protect is the ingestion of water into the engine, that goes through your airbox where your air filter is located.
Hi Flooded out, only if you don't have full coverage on your auto insurance. You would need comprehensive coverage and the damage would be subject to that deductible.
Hi "flooded out", flood damage is covered under your auto insurance, and is usually covered unless flooded intentionally. However, your homeowners insurance never covers flood damage. You would need to purchase a separate flood insurance policy to make sure you are fully
protected.
it really depends on what was wrong when the car got flooded and how bad it is. alot times it can be minor and worth holding on to. also can depend on make model and year of car
Once the water recedes pull the air filter out and make sure there is no water in the bottom of the air box, if there is then tow to repair facility.
Hi INeedMyScubaGear, as long as your auto insurance policy includes Comprehensive physical damage coverage on your vehicle, you should be covered for flood damage. Generally this is an inexpensive coverage to include on most vehicles.
Hi David in Boynton, I would recommend hiring a professional water restoration and mold remediation company as soon as possible. Leave this one to the professionals.
You would know if there were some problems with the vehicle, for example check engine light, tapping noise in engine that you have not heard before.
